“ Got it as take out. First time trying sushi kazoku. The price is fair, very generous fish portions. I enjoyed every roll and nigiri. All of it tastes very fresh and not fishy. The bluefin tuna was surprisingly tender, without any chewy fibers, which is typically a common issue with tuna. I plan to come back to try it as dine-in. ”

“ Wanted to try a new sushi place, and this restaurant hit the spot! We got there around 7:45pm on a holiday night, and fortunately it wasn't too crowded. Upon getting seated, we were offered the choice of water or barley tea. I was interested in the Chef's Choice selection of 8 pieces of nigiri, which came with very thick slices of fish and more expensive items like uni/hotate and the amaebi/sweet shrimp, and although the uni had a very slightly fishy aftertaste it was still a super good deal for $42! My husband ordered the 4 seasons roll and Kazuko roll, and both had generous amounts of raw fish on top and inside the roll (which not too much extra rice either). We also shared the grilled squid, which we thought was pretty good if a tad pricey (most sushi rolls here are also on the higher end, around $17-$20) Was overall a pretty satisfying meal and would probably visit again if we are in the area! ”

“ I haven't been to Sushi Kazoku in a while and I think there are new owners. The sushi is very good. I was pleasantly surprised. I'm a big fan of amaebi and they do it right with the fried head to eat along with it. The Kazoku Roll was awesome. Check out the photo. I am normally a nigiri and sashimi fan but this roll had hamachi topped w/ tuna, avocado, tobiko, scallion, spicy aioli and unagi sauce. Not too much sauce either as that usually kills it for me. The interior is quite small and there tends to be people waiting so I recommend calling for reservations. ”

“ I just found my favorite sushi spot in the Bay Area. The value to quality ratio is fantastic here. You can't go wrong with ordering the toro tasting (8 pieces for $48!). We also loved the assorted tempura and hamachi kama. They gave us extra pieces on both sushi sets we ordered and we also had complementary edamame, which was a nice touch. The only negative was that the tempura sauce was way too watered down, but we fixed that by dipping it into the hamachi kama sauce. We'd order the gyudon next time based on others' good reviews of the dish. Definitely give Sushi Kazoku a try if you want to get some great Japanese food. ”

“ This place is very tiny and fills up fairly quickly, but they were very accommodating to me and my friend on a Friday night around 6pm. They're very nice, service was wonderful! They give complimentary edamame and we ordered the gyoza to share which was also great. I got the tonkatsu rice bowl which comes with rice, tonkatsu, a salad, and miso soup. I liked it and thought it was a very generous portion. ”

“ Tried this spot out from a Yelp scroll and it has become my favorite sushi spot in the area! It's a small space, but feels so homey and cozy and look at their dishware! The teapot, cups, everything - loved it. We ordered the beef gyudon bowl and usually I don't like these bc a lot of places it's dry and tough, but this was a perfectly juicy and soft bowl, with lots of rice and ginger. We also ordered salmon nigiri and unagi nigiri and omg the quality was so amazingly soft and good Not pictured - a side salad with the bowl that had a yummy sauce The waitress was so sweet in recommending items and patiently waiting for us to decide our order, and the food came out quickly after! ”

“ We were craving Japanese food and discovered this restaurant in San Carlos. It's a family-owned business located at the corner, with 1-2 tables outdoors. There were no issues with the service, and you can watch as they prepare and slice the sashimi in front of you. We visited during lunchtime, so they offered a lunch special bento box. We ordered a Sake Don (Salmon) and a Bento Box with pork katsu and spicy tuna rolls. Both came with a bowl of miso soup. The salmon sashimi was fresh, served with about 10 slices over the sushi rice. The pork katsu was deep-fried to perfection, and the salad was fresh. The spicy rolls were okay. Overall, the food quality is excellent, and everything tastes fresh. I enjoyed our selections; however, the portion size is smaller than expected for the price. We found ourselves a bit hungry after the meal. ”

“ Incredible!!! The best sushi I've had in a long time. An absolute diamond. Every single thing, down to the miso soup, is insane. Still dreaming of the big fat oily delicious o toro sushi and the so fresh and creamy uni sushi. Loved the Papillon roll so much, which is torched and warm and so flavorful. The salmon teriyaki with its crispy skin is also divine. Also, there's outdoor seating so bring your dog! Skip the wait and book a reservation! Coming back next week. 5 stars!!!! ”
